Tie Fest 2007.....SAVE THE DATE.

There's a little tradition started by a small group in MD called Tie Fest.

I believe it started in a basement with a few guys drinking a few beers, and letting the hackle, bucktail, and most importantly BS fly.

If you've been to a recent one you know it sure has grown out of the basement.

Ok so what is it now??

When?:Saturday, Feb 24th.

What?:: A great day of nothing but fishing lies and good company. Learn new patterns, cast a new rod, buy discount materials, see guys you've fished with in the past, make friends you'll fish with in the future. Sit in on presentations about fly fishing areas you've heard of but know nothing about, have a bite to eat, drink a cold beer....etc. Food is available at the lodge for cheap...can't recall the menu...too many yuenglings.

Ok so enought about last year.

A lot of the same folks are signed up to be there again this year, and Tony (OneMoreCast) The organizer always does a great job of having a few suprise guests show up.

Lefty Kreh made it two years ago!!!

If you've ever thought about picking up a fly rod or tying a fly this is a don't you dare miss it event. You'll meet some great guys and gals and have access to more flyfishing knowledge than you can imagine.

Sounds like a fun time. Have to see if I can fit it in. Brad Buzzi is one of our SJCFA members and a great tier. I have done well with flies that I have gotten from him and is like a machine when it come to tying fast and quaility fies. Look like you will have a whole lot of good people there.

Roger that Flies only... on tap!!

It's a good time guys. The event has grown by leaps and bounds every year. This year will be no different. We have some cutting edge tyers, rods companies, fly shops, presentations, casting demonstrations and instruction and of course... fly tying lessons and demonstrations... boats...yup boats too.. Parkers, Contenders, skiffs... all rigged for fly fishing.. you name it and it is all for free. It's a great way to learn what fly fishing is all about.

There is a core group of hardcore anglers in this bunch. The best of the best as far as loyal and honest friends go.. We put together this event for one thing only, love of the sport. Please check it out...

hey sikorsk, i knew we had something in common, the shotgun passenger . i always try to get a ride not that i am a 12 step grad, but i do like to have fun. yeungling seems to get the fun well oiled . they have a parker saleguy there too, this sounds much better than furimsky's deal.....

No spilling beer on the Parkers or at the fly tying tables.

It's the kind of event that will make you go home and tie for a few day straight, then book a trip so you can try them out.

Would do Lee, but I just realized my idiot buddy is having his bachelor party in Vegas that weekend.

Now most people probably think....poor me....I mean What happens in Vegas stays there

Nope....I'd rather be drinking cheap beer getting covered in bucktail trimmings and telling lies.....damn damn damn Anyone wanna pretend they're me for a weekend and go to Vegas???

Might as well cancel the event....I can't make it.
