    Numbers or Size?

For numbers, the buzz I hear is all about Isla Holbox (hole-bosh) on the north shore of the Yucatan. The babies are there year-round and the bigger fish (sub-100 mostly) are there in the summer. Reports are that you can be casting at fish all day. I haven't been, and I hear it's a bit on the "rough" side, but who needs the 4 Seasons if there's fish to be had.
For me, I'm going to try to wrangle more than the 1 day I got on last years spring vacation. This year is Treasure Cay, Abaco, and I"ve got the bonefish jones Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!

    Thanks for more ideas guys.

I'd say more numbers than size. The 21 baby I have under my belt on the fly was fun on the 10wt. and didn't wear me out.

As of now we're thinking the keys at some point of the year.

Let's see some pics and hear some stories from those who have a few silver kings under their belt.

10 shots a day? Maybe in the old days, when you could float a nice big mullet under the seven mile bridge at night. I haven't seen that many tarpon except at Robbie's!

About the time, the fishing starts cooking here in the middle keys, I'm headed back home for sturgeon. My best day last year was six tarpon hooked and four boated over 100lbs. all on a 14wt Fisher rod and FN #3 "wedding cake". That was one day before I left for home, 14 May.

I fished Holbox before the hurricane came a while back. It was ok fishing, lodging was nothing much, as if I cared. If you want babies, then Rio Chico in Venezuela is where you want to be. Hundreds of them little buggers knocking the paint off your poppers all day long. And, small snook - lots of them too. The area is now a national park, the boats are small, but very stable for fly anglers. Most importantly--the people are very friendly. The price of the trip was about $1800 for 3 days of fishing. Add on a 3 day trip to Los Roques for bonefish, wahoo and permit and you've covered all the bases.
