    Talking SWEET SALTY GOODNESS

It sure is nice being home in the salt after being on the Roanoke River catching Stripers. The worst thing is getting spoiled with 50 to 100 fish days on the river but fresh water splashes with lots of fish still can't compare to 1 splash from a fish in the salt...

Today, Mike (No Excuses on the board) and I were looking for some upper slot fish for the IFA tournament this weekend. We found some that are close, but the hunt is still on for some more upper slot. Mike how did we miss getting pictures of your fish? Oh well, such is life.

Catch of the day was this spotless Drum, no spot on either side...

    No spot on left side...

No spot on the right, but he did have a nice blue tail...

Getting close, this bad boy just needs some meat on his bones...

As always Mike, great day on the water with you again...

Glad you're back captain Lee. All water is good, but salt water is best.
    Nice sea mullet!

Salt water is nice but gosh isn't it nice not to have to rinse stuff when coming out of the river....
Have you ever caught a puppy without spots?

    Lee,

You should have helped that poor fish out by taking your sharpie and drawing a spot on him. Good luck this weekend.

I definatly miss the smell of "salt" air...almost equally as much as I hate what it does to the gear. I guess its a tradeoff. Best of luck in the tourney!!
