Leslie Armstrong the wife of Mark Armstrong from Saltwater Marine has been diagnosed with cancer. She has just started treatment. They are looking at more than $20,000.00 of out of pocket medical expenses this year alone. With that in mind Joel Romig of Saltwater Marine in Monkey Junction and the rest of the staff have put together a Charity Tournament to help out Mark and Leslie. This will be a Flounder and Drum Tournamentwith the weigh in at
Inlet Watch Marina on October 22 with a weather date of October 23.

All on the monies collected from the tournament will go directly to the Armstrong family.

I am attaching a link to the website that gives the prize structure and tournament rules and entry form. There will also be an optional Calcutta for those that are interested.

Please consider joining me in this tournament for a very worthy cause. If you can not fish the event please think about making a donation.

Here is some information about Leslie from her husband Mark to show why this is such a good cause:

Leslie moved to Wilmington 15 years ago because she loves the outdoors and the beach community. After she completes her 40+ hour work week Leslie spends most of her time volunteering for many local animal rescue organizations including the Carolina Basset Hound Rescue. When not finding homes for homeless pets she is, working in her garden, walking with her dogs, or on the water boating and fishing.
Leslie is by far the kindest person you will ever meet. Her deep passion for life and kindness towards others is what she is known for. Leslie loves nothing more than to help other people, and animals and will gladly give more than asked. Leslie has a way of looking at everything in life as a miracle and will always find time to pick up a shell, smell a flower, pet a dog or talk to a child. Leslie’s selflessness, kindness and passion for life inspire all that know her and are what makes her such a beautiful person.
