South Jersey Coastal Fly Anglers and Cape May lost one it's premier fly fishermen, who was one of the fly fishing fixtures on Cape May Point jetties.
Andy Andeychak after many years of fighting cancer related to agent orange exposure during his tour of duty in Vietnam finally lost his battle.
Probably most people who knew him never knew of his of his personal struggle, the many treatments and their effects and how sick they made him. Andy had been fighting the disease for many years and despite all the treatments, he was always up beat, always smiling and never complained of his situation. He fought it till the end.
Here is Andy and his wife at our SJCFA Dinner
Andy was a fun guy to fish with, be around and a excellent fly fisherman with a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all of us who knew him well and by anyone who had made his acquaintance.
Andy will always be remembered for his program at our club meeting where he told how he caught his world record Black Drum on the fly. (It still holds today.)
Andy's wife said that he really enjoyed being a member of SJCFA
and looked forward to our meetings and interacting with all the members.
There will be a Service at Our Lady Star of the Sea. Viewing in church at 12:00 noon 1:30 pm Mass then to cemetery on Wed 13th. of August.
