    Brad-

The I-fly holders are well made and work well for most boats.

Birdsall also makes a nice one. link

IMO your rods are better off being stored under/along the gunnels when you're underway. Fly rods are more prone to damage when kept in standard upright holders b/c of their length and flexibility. In a good chop you'll have them whipping around and knocking into each other.

Plus, the less sticking up to snag your cast the better.

Get some PVC and put a few 2-3' sections forward under the gunnels parallel to the gunnels/axis of the keel.

Then measure back enough for a 9' rod and put two hooks made from cut pieces of PVC to hold the fighting but/grip.

Make sure your reel can fit back there. This is where the neoprene cover for the reel becomes important.

There are a bunch of ways to do this, so figure out what works best for you and your boat.

    More ideas
