Needed to fish today, got my buddy David C excited about finding Tarpon in the inlets. Weather, winds & waves kept us from going out the inlets in a flats boat, so he decided to check out CF river. Off we went looking for bait. That wasn't going well either, all baits were either large Mullets of tiny pinkie size Mullets.
Get to the spot & he immediately hooks up with a slot Red on a trout rod. White Gulp curly tail on 1/4 oz. jig head. Wasn't a hot bite going off & I didn't think I was ever going to catch a fish today.
But I did ! He measured 32", weighted 12# & fought like a bull dog.

White spoon was what tricked him. ......... ICM
