    Offshore saturday

Started out with the long run to the gulfstream in search of another trip just like that last one. Ended up arriving only to find lots of grass line and picky fish. Landed 4 nice Mahi in a couple of hours. Decided to try the jigging some but ended up getting crushed by AJ’s and after a few of those monsters it was sore arms for trashfish!

Sure was fun on the light tackle though!

Caught another AJ that was easily over 50 pounds, but unfortunately the pictures were taken on a crewmembers camera that won’t get back to me. If I shake it out of him I will for sure post it..
Also found this cool little guy!! Had to let him go though….

Went back to trolling for another hour or so but only to find 1 more Mahi! Wasn’t very big either, so with 4 mahi in the box at this point it was time for some grouper! Ran back in 20 miles and after having change spots due to the US navy...we found them first drop! 

Next few drops where producing nice sized pinkies and than another drop a nice grouper! The bite WAS ON. Than just as the bite turned on fast, A crewmember got a hook in his hand. At this point it was around 2:30 in the day. Played with the hook for awhile but with failure we had to pack it in and leave the hungry grouper for another day.
All in all, it wasn’t bad at all for a half trip! We also had a couple of mahi chase baits to the boat but where just too stubborn to eat. Still a good day. Until next time….

A crewmember took off with the biggest mahi before we could get him in the final picture…

    More pictures too come…..
