Not A Bad Night On The Beach At Cape May Point

Haven't been to the point in ages. Bumped into Andy from the fly club and we had a fun evening. 7:00 to 8:30 we had non stop action on super small weakies. They were blasting inch and a half long bay anchovies at our feet all night.



We were both using intermediate lines. I was using a small pink white clouser and Andy was using a olive/white. We each must of caught maybe 20 small weakies each with the biggest maybe 12 or 13 inches but the majority were smaller. Constant hits, great light action. Just nothing big.

The day of small fish....nothing wrong with that at all. Looks like a beautiful place to fish.

Andy and I hit Cape May Point again tonight. My charter this morning was staying at the point and said he saw a few bigger weakfish caught by bait guys last night in concrete ship area where the beach is more gravel and stone. Last minute we decided to try there to get away from the small weakies.

Again we whacked them. Pink/white clousers were used by both of us. We each got about 20 weakies again. Did get a few keeper size ones that we released and Andy had the biggest of the night. (Looked to be around 17 inches) Was away from my camera bag so no picture.



Mostly dinks like above but great constant action for about an hour and a half. Tried to get Andy to hook up another nice one while I had the camera ready but he wouldn't do it. Another fun night.
