    Not a bad morning

took the morning off and fished the outgoing from Kent Island.

found breakers not long after setting up our first drift and 3 of us ended up catching around 150 fish. Dink Rock and Blues, some decent White perch, and a hardhead or three. about a third of the fish were on the fly. started with a #4 clouser chart/white and ended up using a surfcandy in white/tan/peacock. The spinning rod fish were caught on hopkins shorty spoons 1 oz. w/ single barbless hooks.

Don't have the best of pics b/c I forgot my camera.

    Size 12 white perch.

The fish were gorging on silversides and bay anchovies. Had a bait ball try and get in the boat with us. Really beautiful morning and a good sign for the fall. Water was 82-83.5

Dave, not a bad way to spend the morning. were you on the bay side of kent island or the eastern bay? my grandfaterh used to live in cloverfields going towards love point. spent all my youth down that way on the bay.

    On the inside.

Didn't want to leave the fun fish to find bigger fish. There are bigger fish out in the bay doing the same thing but didn't want to go to far. Had to get back to the office by noon.

    It's a beautiful damn place isn't it?

Size doesn't matter. Good action small fish. Sounds like a fun morning no matter how you cut it. Got to catch what mother nature gives you. Makes you appreciate the days when you get the big stuff.

That engine stuff can mess up your day. Tough to get fish when other things are causing problems. Had some problems myself the last couple of days but mechanic got me running good again. Hope you are running smooth again too.

John...What kind of boat do you run?

If you ever see a 3 color navy seal looking thing out there make sure you say hello.
