I'm thinking about purchasing a kayak to fish in the surf, breakers and inlet channels of south carolina. what type is best sit-on or sit-in.I would like to be able to fish all and be comfortable. Also would like room to have cooler and tackle.

Here in Wilmington there is Hook Line and Paddle. They have all the kayaks options you could want. I got one that has scuppers and "click and play" so I can make mine a tandem or single by moving the seats around. I also put a fish finder on it. It is also stable enough to stand up on if I want to chase a school or reds in the flats. Native makes a great boat and comes with a lifetime warranty. Something that does not happen too often anymore. They are also locally made in NC. Call HLP and pick their brain a bit. Really nice guys and locally owned and operated.
you definitely want a sit on to use fishing. if money is not an issue get a Hobie with the mirage drive. the outback or the pro angler would be my choices.
I have a pelican 116. it is green and has three rod holders. two in back and one between your legs. it is inexpensive and durable. i have had it in the gulf off of grand isle, LA and felt very safe. i have caught Bass, speckled trout and red fish from it. it is a blast.
