    New to fly fishing

I have been fly fishing just a little while in the fresh water and can tie a few flies for that, but hopefully I am going to start fly fishing in the salt water rivers here soon and I would like to be able to tie my own flies for that as well. I have tied the jelly fish fly that Gottaflylee posted on here but I dont know what patterns or materials I need to have for stuff like reds and trout.

Are there any good websites that have tutorials that will show me some stuff or DVD's that I can buy? I have checked with the local Bass Pro Shop here and all they have is freshwater DVDs. I can buy the Saltwater learning kit for $60 from there but I comes with a lot of stuff that I dont need. Any help would be great.

    Thanks!

www.aswf.info is a saltwater club here in New Jersey and they have a lot of good patterns on video. I would also google. saltwater fly tying and see what you can come up with there. Lots of good instructions on many different sites.

Good luck. Saltwater is not that hard. Clousers, Deceivers and a couple of popping flies and you are good to go. You can alway expand.

    Thanks

I appreciate the link. I have googled that several times and there are some good videos out there but they dont really tell you what size hook they are using and materials, etc... But on that note I guess I can see what they are using and adjust the fly to what materials I have.

    Appreciate the start though.
