Mother's day weekend adventures

[Catcher's Mitt]

We headed down to the camp this weekend with high expectations because this was the first weekend this season that was going to have a good tide and light winds. we were not disappointed! Alden and his girlfriend fished with us Saturday. Paul had to work Saturday so he missed out on Saturday's adventures.

Alden and Sydney had to get back so they left early Sunday morning. They missed out on the Mother's day Massacre.

Saturday we headed south to some islands in Timbalier Bay,just inside from the gulf.
We had close to 60 trout and a couple of red things. we kept one grilling size redfish. we had 6 trout over 20". had to put a couple trout in the drink box. I hate it when that happens.

Sunday:

We headed to the same area. we caught a limit of trout. through back 15 or so legal trout to keep the bigger ones. Libby was fishing cocahoe minnows on the bottom all day. she had her share of trout. she also caught many hardheads, gafftop and what she called devil fish, aka whiting. lol
Paul and I used out favorite bait, a Long A.

Libby said it was her best Mother's day ever! Mine too!!!!!

Looks like ya'll had a great weekend! The trout are def starting to show up in their usual summer patterns. Team Catcher's Mitt sure did put the smack down this past weekend!!!
