mirrolure ?, specs vs reds

I have read many terrific threads on this site about mirrolures and their presentation for catching the wiley trout, but i was wondering if some folks would comment about color selection for reds vs specs, specifically in the surf (obx). Are there colors that work better for reds? stick with what works for specs? does it matter?
