Has anyone tried out the 17mr and 19mr
Has anyone tried out the 17mr and 19mr
Thanks for all the info. This thread will help me out this year for sure. I have heard of fish caught with these lures but never have understood how to fish them with any success.
Got my list made out and will get some this week. Thanks again Gottafly

Fishman we fish the 17MR here alot in eastern NC. The Electric Chicken is a very popular color, doesn't sink as quick as a 52 but it's deadly around docks here. I'm looking to try out the 27MR this week on some ocean specks.

I want to try them in the surf, lite surf very littl wave action. I fish the western part of the Chesapeake Bay around the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. A few years ago I was fishing around a school of finger mullet and saw something shiny run through the finger mullet I think it was a spec. When I saw these lures used on the show Carolina Outdoors I thought I d give them a shot. What do you think I hope they will work. I may need a different style though.
Fishman, the 17 I think would do great in the surf if there isn't a head wind as they are light. You might try the 25 or 27MR as they are bigger and heavier. I'm not sure on water clairity up there but the Electric Chicken works great in tainted water here, 808 for dirtier water. We will be trying for some ocean specks in the am along Shackleford Banks so I'll try the 17 out in the surf for you and let you know

Sure is educational to read about how these lures should be fished for optimal results.
I grew on freshwater up in Northern Ontario and Mirrolures were killer baits (when we could get them) but really we had no idea how to fish them properly at all.
Still own a bunch for Smallmouth and Inshore in tropics, Thanks to everyone here for taking the time to share your knowledge, very kind of you all.
Fishman, the MR17 in Electric Chicken is now my "go to" bait for trout. And I know Capt. Lee likes that bait too- from personal experience at Mirrolure School. I like to use it in creeks where there is little or no current because it sinks really slow.
Maybe Mirrolure school will come to SE Va. one day LOL
----- for the greatest thread EVER !!!! Next best thing to Mirrolure school -----
It's bound to cool down around here eventually and then it will be on! I can't wait !!!!
Thanks once again Lee !
