The trout fishing has been strong in the Wrightsville Beach area. Today we caught several and some I would call mid size Gators...most were caught on DOA Shrimp as well as chartreuse Gulp baitfish pattern on 1/4 oz Hank Browns. I have been jacked up after learning a lot with Capt Lee's Mirrorlure tips but today I couldn't get bit on the Mirrorlure. It was mid day with clear skies and I wonder if the bright skies worked against us with the bigger hard baits. In any event I can't wait for the water temps to lower. In addition to the trout we caught 3 hungry flounder. Great day to be on the water and ready to get back out there! Happy Thanksgiving and good fishing too all
The water clarity in the ICW is pretty good despite all of the recent rain. On the otherhand in the creeks I am fishing the water is always pretty muddy as it gets to the bottom of the tide.
Nice Specks. I was out fishing friday morning at Inlet Watch and hooked up with two really nice specks. Both of them tagged a little thumptail bass assassin(white with gold flakes). Hopefully this wind will die out by early next week. Fish and Turkey.....
