    This $17 puppy?

I was thinking I would rig with sinking line and drag it though a pod of bunker..

    bass pro fiddle sticks....

There are a ton of flies that mimic the bunker. Many are the peanut or smaller versions.

What size you looking for? I think you might have just sparked the next video. I just tied a 5" bucktail deciever in a bunker color.

You're limited with bucktail to about 5-6 inches if you can find some good tails.

also remember that if you're fishing for the bass when they're attacking the schools you may want to be a little different than the other prey.

remember this post...LINK...look at the flies Tom tied. Beautiful bunker.

Size? The bigger the better. They stuff themselves with 12-14" bunker.

I thought the action of the fly would differentiate it from the crowd. They can pick out the wounded one in seconds sometimes

yeah, you're right but you never know . Sometimes different works better.

Are you looking to tie or just to buy? Head down to Down-n-trout and look around...you'll be much better off talking with them and maybe even getting into tying. You'll be able to match the bait you want with a little bit of practice.

Big is what you need sometimes. Been fly fishing right next to guys live lining adult bunker and they would hook up on about every cast in 12 foot of water while casting the biggest flies I had. (8 or 9 inches) Would get a hook up here and there and believe when the fish are feeding on big baits it is hard for them to hit a smaller offering when all the big stuff is around. Don't think you can go too big. Just have to fling them when they get super large as you can't do much of a backcast.

The link takes you to 'Matty J's' web page I think the bunkers sell for 5 bucks or so, which is really pretty good, considering how nice they are. They come about 8-9 inches long, so you can trim them down to liking. His squid are pretty awesome, too.
