Lets talk about lines....

Which brand is your favortie?
Whic floating line do you use? Which do you hate?
What sinking lines do you like??? Hate???
Which lines have you heard good stuff about but haven't tried yet?

I have so many lines downstairs that I'm not sure I could use them all if I tried. Some are winners....some are dawgs. I'm waiting to see what you guys put up before I respond.

I have mostly Rio lines....why? who the hell knows.

Fish mostly with my 350 teeny on my 9 wt. or my Rio floating SW taper.

Have the rio aqualux or some derivative of it for my 7 and 9 wt and a Rio outbound on my 10 wt that hasn't gotten much of a try on the water.

I love my teeny lines.

I can't say I dislike any of the lines I have but do blame them for not catching fish on certain days. I'm still not in tune enough with what the line is making the fly do. It's something I need to pay more attention to. I guess that will come with more experimentation and that only comes with time on the water.

Also have the rio lake deep 7 and can lay that sucker right against the bottom. Hope to have OMC show me how to catch fish with it now.

Sinking outbound is a good line. It casts like a bullet and sinks like a stone. Just stretch it out prior to casting esp on cold days. We'll get the lake down to a science too. I gravitate towards rio too dave. I love the factory welded loops among other things. Never and I mean never get the floating outbound. The running line is made out of barbed wire I think. Sliced my finger to the bone at henlopen earlier in the summer. Doesn't cast like a floating line...doesn't fish like a floating line.
Sci angler makes a great floating line though.
Hodx... there are so many lines now. Everything has become specialized. What kind of conditions do you normally fish? Depth? Current?
The best thing about all these new lines is that you can really dial in a bite with the right tools. Several times in the last year, we have seen fish suspended and just plain wore them out. All the time, trollers and jiggers coming up empty. It's hard for a jigger to work a bait on suspened fish. It's guess work and they haave a very limited time in the zone. We can keep our flies there for as long as we want.
Lines and flies are our greatest tools.

I usually fish inside river mouths....current isn't to strong
usually fish between 8 to 15 feet

I have a mess of lines with most being Teeny and Cortland. Have about 5 sinking up to 750 a few intermediates including one that glows in the dark and the floaters. Like them all. Use mostly intermediate and sinking around the inlet and beachfront and intermediates and floaters in the back. Guess it depends on what you are use to.
