    Smile A LESSON LEARNED

Here is my first post and certainly not the last post in the fly fishing forum!

On Sunday I was approached by Paul Fuller show director for the Salt Water Fishing Shows and Paul asked me if I fly fished and my answer was no. He then proceeded to ask me if I knew of the legendary "Lefty Kreh" as embarrassed as I was I didn't have a clue to who he was or that he was sitting in the booth right next to ours for the past 2 days!

I took the opportunity to meet him and it was an honor to meet someone of his stature and to shake hands with someone so knowledgeable and for him take time out of his busy schedule of seminars, autograph signing to teach me the basics of fly fishing

So not only did I get to me the legend of fly fishing, I received private lessons on how to cast and retrieve all the great stuff that goes along with it.

Not only is Lefty nominated in to the IGFA hall of fame, he is an excellent teacher, and a awesome fly fishermen! He has accomplished many things that one can dream off.

I see so many people fly fishing anymore that it had me intrigued to learn and I can't wait to get out there and give it a try!

I will hopefully be able to take up his invite and make to his home waters of Maryland on my way to the ASA tournament in May and get some outdoor lessons.

Thanks again Lefty & Paul for the wonderful experience!!

Here are a few links about him.

I wish all boat shows were as fun as this one!

Some day I will be posting a picture of like this of me!

Lefty is definitely quite the gentleman.

I was lucky enough to meet him at Tie fest a few years back. To this day there is a Lefty's Deciever that he tied in a bag tacked up above my tying table.

There isn't a soul on earth that has experienced more with a fly rod in hand. The best part is he's willing to share it all.

Definitely take him up on that offer....You're definitely LUCKY

Lefty is the real deal... he has more one liners than Yogi Berra and they are funnier too.. One of his favorites.. When he sees a fly he knows will catch fish, or a spot that looks great.. "That's like rollin a wine bottle through a jail cell."
Hopefully he'll be back at the fest next year. We are lucky to live so close to him. You can get a casting lesson anytime you want. He'll even sit down and tie with you....

Lefty is a great speaker and teacher. Any time spent with Lefty is time well spent. Even if you were not into fishing I think Lefty would keep your interest for hours.

I met Lefty about 9 years ago and have been lucky enough to fish with and around him a couple of times a year. I found out he can dish it out better than he can take it. I think the world of him.
LuckyLady, your name fits you and with the post you just made ...your in trouble now Cost of your fishing just tripled!
