For the past month or so, I've been seriously contemplating selling my Ocean Kayak- I simply never use it. Decided to take it out today for the 1st time in over a year and now I'm having second thoughts.

Put in on the backside of Blind Pass Park in Englewood and headed East to some oyster bars where I latched into a beautiful Red. 30" on a small gold spoon and on my lightest rod. Great fight and a very healthy, pretty fish! Was sittin right on a dropoff, next to the oysters. It was the only one (that I caught here) and was right in the middle of a school of mullet.

Found a deeper trough as the sun got a little higher and the tide started to move. Bounced a Bomber Fuse Jerk Minnow in their Mullet pattern off the bottom and got hit by a chunky snook. 24" and beautiful as ever, very healthy looking fish, which was great to see!

For the next hour, I managed to pull three Trout, and 5 more reds between 20-24" from this deeper hole. What a blast. It is great to see our fishery is still hanging in there.

I hope it bounces back even more once the water gets just a little warmer. Still, today was a great sign and now I don't know wether to sell the Yak, or keep it ...

Sorry no pics, I was by myself. I just wanted to pass on the info.
