After surviving a holiday weekend in a resort town (and oh what a 4th it was), we decided we deserved a girl's trip and that's all there was to it. So Sarah, Lizz and I called in *cough cough* sick, loaded up the gear, launched the boat and made our way out on what turned out to be a picture perfect day.
We were in them pretty quickly; first one in the box within the first 10 minutes. After that the action was pretty steady... lots of shorts but some big boys mixed in. This was Sarah's first trip so it was just too, too fun watching her experience and take in the wonder and excitement of it all. A couple birds hung around watching the action but they were the only company we had all day, and it was just a perfect, perfect day on the water with just enough wind to keep the bugs away and pretty steady action. It was just what the doctor ordered.
We were in by 6:30/7ish, scared up a relatively sizable flounder on the way back to the ramp, got the boat out and cleaned up, went home and cooked up our spoils. Successful day from start to finish, and a tasty meal of it all when we got home.
