It'll be interesting to see how many people join in here but I think a swap should be in order.
fly will be saltwater and has caught something for you.
I'm thinking cap it at 11. You'll have to tie 10 flies.
Fly should include simple instructions, and materials list. To be sent in a BOX...envelopes tear and lose the flies. It's best to take a box. Address it to yourself...wrap it with paper....address that to me. I tear paper off...sort flies...send to you.
Maybe next year. Too close to the start of fishing season. I like tying flies but I like to tie a different types all the time. Hate to make 10 or 12 of the same fly. Always tough to find time to tie all the flies I need and during the summer I tend to tie the ones that are getting hammered and then I like making some adjustments on them to see what might work better or try them in different colors. I am convinced that saltwater fish just arent that fussy. They see a flash, have a second to think and then just react. When I am catching fish I like to change flies to see if I can get them on different stuff and they seem to take it all. Only exceptions would be if feeding on shrimp, a worm hatch, feeding on crabs, or under lights at night.
Yeah it doesn't look like a swap is gonna make it. I guess they are more of a winter/offseason thing.
I try and tie a few evenings a weekend and know what you mean about the 10-12 of the same thing. I've been tying a bunch of bonefish patterns and am getting sick and damn tired of the little suckers.
dave, would probably be more interested if it was earlier. playing in the boat now and working on my upstairs .. only so much time in a day but lets try next season i wouldbe up for it...
I'm in the "gotta learn to fish them first" group! Most interested in a swap though, so maybe when the cold weather blows us back off the water we can make another attempt!
