    Help with Fish Identification

    I was wondering if someone could help me identify following fish? This were caught last month off batabgas Philippines use the bottom fishing. Thanks.

    Gorgeous fish! I'd say it's a snapper, but not certain.

    some report Chinamanfish has Ciguatera his body.
    but my friends finish his chinamafish, he is ok.

    last week I went fishing same place got another one.




    maybe soon I will ask my wife to cook spicy korean style.

    Magnificent looking creature! This second picture has greater detail than the first one. One of the best looking fishes i have ever seen!
    A little follow up research on your id confirms that this is indeed a snapper, as does this newer picture where the upper jaw bone clearly overlaps the lower and jaw hinge as is the case with all snappers.
    Occasional Ciguatera is indeed reported for this species, so let them swim next time!
