    A little follow up research on your id confirms that this is indeed a snapper, as does this newer picture where the upper jaw bone clearly overlaps the lower and jaw hinge as is the case with all snappers.
    Occasional Ciguatera is indeed reported for this species, so let them swim next time!

    I been Club Tournament for year and half,
    and light tackle all catch more then 1 pound fish are weighted and scored.
    I love fish but seldome I eat what I catch.
    last april I was stranded maoutain for 3 day due to bad weather, and friend serve me big barracuda soup, that was
    scare me Ciguatera.
