Had a Reel Fun time on the Tammie Marie

Libby and I fished with our friends aboard their boat the Tammie Marie. We fished from dusk to dawn on Saturday and about 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. We had a great time an caught two boxes of fish that were a mixed bag. Speckled Trout, White Trout, Red Fish, Drum, Sheephead, Gafftop, Spanish Mackerel, Whiting, and a big Jack Crevelle that Libby caught and made us bring back to the dock. She said after that fight, she had to bring it back to the camp and show it off. lol

we wore the white trout out late Sunday afternoon. Joe B got up on the front deck after staying in the back all week in and used my meat hauler rig to catch.....who knows how many white trout. My meat hauler rig for white and speckled trout is: 250 Calcutta on a 7'10" carrot stik, with two white beetles with a red dot. the barbs are crimped down and an unweighted popping cork is right above the double rig. It took Joe B. a minute to get used to it. He lost the 3/4 of the first 10 he brought to the boat. Joe, keep reeling and swing them in the boat. not into the gunnel or completely over the boat! but once he got the hang of it the deck of the boat was soon full of white trout! The two secrets to this rig is the unweighted popping cork and the barbs pushed down. one more secret is to superglue your beetles to your jig head.

we were so tuckered out by Sunday afternoon that I didn't get any pictures of the white trout carnage.
