    Gulfstream report! Tues. April 19

Before I write this report I just want to say this, my arms are sore. And my back hurts. That’s a rare occasion for me after a fishing trip. I am usually just tired. It’s all of the symptoms of a fishing trip today! Maybe it has to do with how I got my wisdom teeth out last Friday…..
Well after cancelling and turning around at the inlet for 3 different trips in a row due to weather, it was safe to say the In My Dreams team NEEDED a trip. We were short a man, but still pulled the trip together after “working out a few knots” Hit the docks a few minutes late but pushed off around 5:15 to be greeted to the lake Atlantic! The water was absolutely SLICK. It was excellent once the sun started to show we ran 50 MPH the last 25 miles. On the way out there was the moon on one side (full moon) and the sun beginning to rise on the other. Both visible at once, it was very cool. Kind of ironic in a way, because just like in real life the sun rose over the moon and the light took over the scary and evil dark. Maybe this is a crazy topic I am bringing and certainly either way does not have to do with a fishing trip. Just thought I would throw it in this report. You do a lot of thinking when you’re just sitting on the boat under way……..

Anyway Got to the spot and immediately as we hit the spread where greeted by a triple header!

Hot action was on for hours as tuna after tuna came into the boat! All of them falsies and blackfin. Eventually we got tired of the falsies and started letting them go. Finally the bite came to a slow end and the crew was ready to breakout the jigs! After somewhere between 5-10 of these guys straight in a row….(sentence continued below pic)

WE WERE TIRED AND DONE. The idea was to jig tuna, not kill ourselves on 50+ pound AJ’s all day. So that didn’t last very long and we made the call to move about 10 miles in search of a wahoo! Got to the spot where radio chatter had said wahoo were biting. We trolled along for 2 hours without a hit. But finally the bite turned on again and I MEAN THE WAHOO WERE ON…… Hit 2 in a row and had multiple “unzip” and ended the day with the release of a nice cuda.
    Justa trolling along…

We were all very excited! 

Overall a good day! We ended the day with 12 blackfin, 2 wahoo, more AJ’s and Falsies than you could ever fit in a boat, and a cuda! Please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors I am very tired so I probably missed a lot. I ll clean this post up tomorrow but enjoy guys!

Its always good to get out with great friends have laughs and hear the reels screaming. Love the inshore sight fishing and have paddled poled waded speared jetty crawled and surfished over 30 yrs but nothing gets my blood going like The Stream! I love to be out there at the break on the last frontier dropping a jig or throwing a giant topwater on an awesome mark or cruising fish then coming tight and not knowing what it is wahoo tuna cobia mahi Man in the blue suit.. who knows! My kind of heaven. Good job on putting the steel in that second Wahoo Matthew they can get frisky boatside.
