Today we fished with a hero. And in this case, the “hero” wasn’t Superman, batman, or Obama in an economic crisis. LOL But a Soldier of the military!
Got to the Inlet only to be greeted by sporty conditions and white caps. But it looked slick off in the distance, so we pushed out anyway. Surprisingly, the weather stayed rough the whole way out! Even in the slick areas the waves where solid 5 ft. Went air born on a few but the determination to fish was there! We were also fishing with a war hero, and the need to get him a fish was there!
Stopped at the 20 mile gag holes and with not much luck we moved to the 30 mile mark after another 45 minutes of pain. Begin to get a little warmer with stud sea bass like these that actually hurt to release! :,-(

By the end of the day we found ourself a little less than 40 miles out. Seas where rough all day, despite reefcasts predictions. But all in all we still got some good meat. The fish weren’t really chewing and the grouper where small as all of our grouper where legit by inches. Still had one decent one and a good get away from land!

We finished the day with 7 keeper grouper (and lots of short grouper by less than an inch), big grunts and pinkies, and an eel.
