Fun morning fishing with a Nat. Go. moment

I had a great time fishing with my good friend Alec Wessell and soon to be a new father of a boy that we will absolutely spoil and ruin fish.

We started out at the crack of dark and heading to our spot, hoping foe a top water bite that didn't happen this AM and by the crack of dawn, I switched over to a suspending lure in a 808 color and it was on with the Trout and the Red Drum.

Alec with the first fish on his new Riley Rod.

After a few Trout and a Red Drum we were greeted by a visitor that In 59+ years here I have never had that pleasure of seeing before...a Golden Eagle. Needless to say that fishing stopped for me as I went for a lens change and snapping a few shots...

A shot of the type of area we fished.

n the process of retrieving a lure this morn, we found a net that had been abandoned for a while that we were able to get the 2 end weights, 100 yards of led line and a huge wad of webbing at the end of the net. This net will not hurt another fish now, nor will ti take another lure. There was a catch 2000 in the PIN (pinfish color) that I bet was one of mine that I lost last year.

Couple of the nice fat Trout we found this morning...

Thanks for the pics and report Lee. Nothing worse than useless abandoned nets.

    Thumbs up

Awesome pictures Lee!! I actually saw my first Golden earlier this year when I was back on Hoopers Island. It was flying around while we were bank fishing, swooped down and picked off a nice fish, probably a Striper, about 100 yards away from us, very cool!!! Thanks again for sharing, I would love some of that action!

    **EDIT**
That rod in the first picture is flat out suuuuweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!

Mikes Loke Lightening rods are the finest I have ever had in my hand with out a doubt. It is like fishing with an air rod, guessing that that one weighs about 3 ozs, I have one that is about 2.5 ozs and will kick a 36' Red Drum's butt. Everyone should check out Mikes rods.

To see Mikes latest in the works check out his FB page, he has a lot of cool new handles or he can make what ever you dream up. Be sure to like it so you can keep up with his new stuff. Once you use one, you will never want to go back to store bought.

Very Cool Capt Lee - Great Karma for retrieving that discarded net

And yes - the Riley rods are a work of art - not a wasted ounce...
