First Try at Cinder Worm Flies
With the worm hatch and slow fishing I decided to make a couple of cinder worm flies incase I need them tonight. Top left is a floating one others should be close to neutral. Either way I will test them out to see how they look in the water.

Is this the same type of worm (Palolo) found in the keys ??
Lives in coral and hatches a few days after the full moon, high outgoing tide in July..

No sure. I do not think so, but must be related. Never got to try the flies as the wind blew like stink and we only used fly rods for a short time before switching to plug and there were no signs of worms in the water.

Those look good. Can't wait to hear how they work for you. You thinking a floating line with a dead drift, or do you think it will produce more with a strip and pause retrieve ?

Worms have not been around the last couple of nights. I will have to hold on to them until the next hatch comes. Will let you know if I ever do get anything with them.
May just give them a shot while going after weakies. Think they would hit them just in general.
