Made it out on Friday for a few hours with OCaptain and Stretch and John on the 2 Far Out.
With the busy memorial day weekend coming, I knew Friday was going to be the best bet for a little bit of room on the water.
The water clarity was good, and a few of Al's neighbors reported some decent catches in the morning.
We started fishing @ dead low tide, and put a bluefish in the boat almost right away....fresh bait!.
As the tide picked up we got a few bites and finally converted a few of them.
Between whining and using his blackberry, John caught his first flounder, all 7" of it.
I caught the only keeper of the day on a 5/8oz. tan/orange bucktail(the same ones we're auctioning off for the Boys and Girls Club....SEE SIGNATURE) w/ a pink fishbites squid strip. I was slowly dragging and twitching it along the bottom in 4-8ft.
It was nice to get out on the water with some friends and put my first keeper flounder of the year in the boat. Thanks for the invite Al.
WITHOUT A DOUBT THAT IS THE RUSTIEST KNIFE BLADE SOUTH OF THE CANADIEN BORDER...I THINK IT MAY HAVE TRANSFERED LOCKJAW FROM THE BLUEFISH TO THE BOTTOM DWELLERS
