Doin the tourist thing

The bride wanted to do something for the afternoon so we decided to hop the ferry from Southport over to Bald Head Island. I haven't set foot on that island since I was a kid and before there was any developement. Once off I rented a golf cart as that is the only means of transport. I should have brought a cooler since it was hot and steamy away from the ocean. We headed to the little chapel and then climbed to the top of the lighthouse. Before we went to grab some lunch and a couple of cervesa's we found a few creatures lurking around this little pond. . After heading to the east end to walk on the beach and look at pretty water(in front of my house it is brown from the Cape Fear River) the bride wanted to brave the mosquitos and go find some big *** oak tree.
After stopping by the market and getting a beer to go oh and water for the wife we headed back to the ferry. The ferry was delayed leaving due to these 3 old boats docking for the evening.

Baldhead is a very cool place with more that more would think there is to do. Thanks for the ride and reminding me about it...
