I feel that they are almost out of control and some kind of management system
has to be put in place to keep them in check. As I understand, there are many lakes up north that are over run with then and the fish pouplations are suffering badly because of it.

They are out of control down east as well Lee. I made a run over to the banks last weekend and they were so thick I had to slow down to keep from hitting them. Must have been over a thousand in one group. I hate those stupid birds

the last time I fished Catalina Island they got about 9 out of every 10 live bait we put in the water!They are out of control.I was down duck hunting in the Imperial Valley today and there are flites of them ALL firggin day long.They ARE out of control!Tom

It would be interesting to get the figure of how many pounds of juvenile fish they eat out of our sounds and ocean per day!
We little humans probably do a lot less damage and it's time they open regulated hunting on these predators...
Cormorants = Spiny dogfish = fire ants, we probably would not miss them if they disappeared!

There were so many in the mouth of the inlet coming in the other day I had to slow down to keep from hitting them but still got shit on the curtains. Open season on fish ducks I say !

I think we could boost the economy a little if we had a season on em. I think about 10 a day would be good. I could keep four blinds a day booked up all winter. I'll advertise shoot, shoot, shoot, a limit of cormorants or your money back.

I was talking to one of our county commissioners one day about the water quality in our sounds. He told me that waterfowl crap was one of the biggest contributors. The thing that blew my mind was that studies showed year round geese as a big problem not the millions of f'n cormorants.

Don't even get me started on the number of fish they eat. Trout stocks aren't what they used to be and Cormorants are out of control. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out.

We have government grants being given for a bunch of peta loving hippies to go out and tag these things. What the hell for?

Oh by the way, Yes, I hate cormorants.
