found my first fall surf trout of 09' last tuesday.....piled all over a Top Dog. chunky fish too.

stop nets go in soon up that way dont they Jesse?

yeah it shouldnt be long. week or so id suppose. ive been on the beach every day for a few weeks fishing/scouting alot, and they havnt put the tractors or dorys out yet.

the big mullet are definately around though (castnetted some) and seen ALOT. id predict the next light NE wind on EI beaches they'll have the stopnets out.

i fish em some, it kinda kills the fishing south of them when they put them out, but if you go north of them and know how to read the beach, you can get away from any people,and put a hurtin on fish that aint spooked yet.

These came out of the Wrightsville Beach surf last Oct. on Mirrorlures and Top Dogs!

I would truly like to attend your school, Capt. Lee, because my Trout success is very hit or miss, and I don't have much confidence when I go.

I just go a lot! I get skunked on the trout often, and it frustrates me.

aint' a whole lot more things better then topwater trout in the surf
