    Dawson Creek Old Drum

Decided not to make the run to the sound due to nearby storms, so my good friend Will Douglass and I stayed close to Oriental and anchored up in front of Dawson Creek (only boat out there). First five minutes hooked up on this fat mama. Fished for another 2 hours with no more strikes.

Released her with no harm due to the Owen Lupton rig cleanly hooked in the corner of her mouth.

Thanks for the invite to go, had a blast despite just catchin the one fish. Dad told me he heard about a fish kill due to low oxygen in the water up that way around the same time we were there, that prolly drove the fish out into the sound.

    Thanks again,

    Will

    Hey Lee

A friend of mine told me if I buy Will a zebra colored airplane he could give Frank White and his old fishing show a run for his money! I know old guys like you and I remember Frank White and his show. I believe it was called The Southern Sportsman sponsored by House Autry! I believe Will has tried out more fishing spots in NC than most and he has many years left! On another note, thanks for this forum. This has been a great place to visit and share info!

Bill, Will has had a great teacher to grow up with. You got a great kid and looking forward to read his many adventures...
Yea, watched most all of Franks shows. I was sad watching the "Frackes" grow old and then see a new one come to the show. Loved the show where he flew over the beach, landed the plane, hoped out and caught the Old Drum in the surf. Drings back memories of Hall Waters, another great fisherman that flew I enjoyed getting to spend some time with...
