Creek bank specks and getting feet wet!
I was first to step off the beat'n path and was rewarded with a boot full of water, not too cold but it was fishable. Made our way to the creek and had to hang our gear on bushes as there was knee deep water everywhere. 2 bugs get sent out for a test run and were promptly inhaled by some very hungry specks. I hook another that is a little more stout than the first 2 and Phil comes with the net only to find a hole and gets a little wetter than he would like . Fish chewed on the bugs pretty good, Phil had only one hit on the go to stick bait. Ended up with 10 or so, I kept the biggest one for supper which was pretty good for a creek fish. Whole time we fished we had 2-3lb. fish swimming back and forth, right up to our feet then back to the deep, water was pretty clear. We decided to hit another spot on the way home which was dead, didn't lose a single bug so we called it a day. Soon the water will cool and we'll be able to tangle with the bigger fish and Phil will get to see the circus at the CL Jetty first hand, I can't wait!!!! Foul Hook'd |
