Made a trip out on the river last night with a buddy, after rounding up a nice looking bucket full of bait we met at the ramp at 7:30 pm. We set off up river and once we cleared the first island we were greeted by a nasty wind blowing upriver that would destin us to doing donuts.....first stop was a bust, we needed to get around the bend to get out of the wind. After relocating and tucking out of the wind we managed to scratch together a decent night....7 cats with the largest going 25 lbs.

The past few trips out the fish seemed to be dropping the baits after a short runoff while using my bait runner reels....i found a way around that by dusting off an old trick.....once they pull it from the clothes pin.....no tension and they just keep trucking....untill i close the bail and cross their eyes.
Thanks fellas...i contribute what i can, it will be a few more years untill i can spend any real toime on the salt....fishing is fishing...and i much like jer have an affinity for the whisker fish....ill try and keep the catfish cronicles going.
