A Capt. Charlie Brown Christmas .......

Got the call “Big boys are here, do you want to go? “
“Full Moon, northwest winds, dress warm we will be MirrOlure fishing.” YEAHHHH! BOYEEEE !!!!! I am in.

Fishing with two experienced Charter Guides would make most feel inferior, but hey, I’m up for the challenge. Mistake, really big mistake. They schooled me. Now I have to bring a permission slip from home the next time we fish.

This was the best Trout fishing, scratch that. This was the best Trout “catching trip” so far. We caught 3 limits of quality Speckled Trout, without a throw back all night. But we also caught 1 Shark on a MirrOlure a first for me. 2 Puppy Drum & pulled the hook on some reel screamers. I had my personal best night of fishing & if I had not pulled the hook on the other 15 fish we would had our limit much sooner.

Capt. Jim Sabella lost a big fish at the boat. Guess his expectation management theory wasn't working. This Trout hit the lure like a torpedo & almost snatched the rod from his hands. This was the one of the ones that Capt. Charlie Brown promised us would be there & was. But no monster Trout love last night.
Learned a few new tricks & the finer points of MirrOlure fishing without breaking a rod.
Shared some Brandy, some laughs & some interesting stories of Ely Mae’s goat. ( don’t ask. )

Ready for a repeat with better results …… ICM

Read this with the music running thru your mind .....
On the twelfth day before Christmas, the good Captain gave to me ……..

    1 Small Shark.
    2 Puppies Drumming.
    3 Friends Laughing.
    4 Hour Drive.
    5 Hours Fishing.
    6 Sips of Brandy.
    7 Tangled Messes.
    8 Taco Bells.
    9 Shiny Lures.
    10 Missed Limits.
    11 Knot Winds.
    12 Speckled Trout.
    And no broken rods.

All right Billy, now it is time to do that on your own school boy. Talked to Charlie the other night but he didn't tell me you were heading up there. Oh ya, you must be special as most people call him Charles...
