    Cape May Fishing Reports Jan

Was just too nice a day here today. Thought I might fish the outgoing tide. Went up to the surf with binoculars searched the surf from north to south. Not one person fishing and did not even see one bird flying any where. Surf was dead calm and a bit dirty.

Zipped over to Cape May point to check out water there. Calm and dirty. Walked and checked out all the jetties. No signs of bait, water very brown and one guy fishing for 3 hours with clam never got one bite.

    I never wet a line.

Saw one lone boat working the rips.

Was going check out Stone Harbor area but decided to take down the Christmas lights while it was so warm. Also did some waxing of the boat and cleaning of fishing gear.

Might check out north tomorrow with the warm weather.

Another beautiful day and again no signs of life anywhere to be found and again I never wet a line. Talked to a friend who lives up in Avalon. He said there was good bait around up until this last cold spell and then it all disappeared and the water in the back was 41 today. Looks like getting that first bass on the fly for the year is not going to happen any time soon.

Today it was 65 degrees and windy. My wife and I covered the beach on a walk and no signs of life again. Not even many people out and about. Here a some shot from the end of Cape May looking toward the point.
