Cape Lookout Backup

Hey Guys....I know Cape Lookout has the reputation of being the Albie capital but today was wide open on the Albies off Wrightsville Beach. I haven't seen the Albies off Wrightsville like this in a long time. The fish were eating very big Silversides. I caught several on the fly using the "Pearl Necklace" fly and pink Maria jigs worked also on spinning rods. I apologize in advance for the crappy photos but I was by myself taking pics using my cell phone while trying to stay on the fish! Take a look at the size of the Silversides in two of the pics. Get out there and get you some while they are here.....

Hey Lee...you got that right about the weather. When I checked it last night it was calling for rain all day. When I woke up I said wow, I got to go! My original plan was to look for Albies and than run up river for the trout. The Albies delayed my plan B! You should have seen the albies attack the Mirrolure MR17 right beside the boat...I couldn't stand it as I had to throw that trout rod with the MR17 in front of a fish and see what he would do. The albie had a mouth full of treble hooks. As far as getting together and going fishing....come on and jump in the truck with me Friday. I am going to Harkers to fish Sat & Sun and back Sun night. It's all paid for so it won't cost you nothing other than fishing tips!

Hey Billy, I was out there too in the Parker. I caught 7 abies, including the biggest one I have ever caught at Wrightsville, 14 lbs! All the others were normal WB size.

Was that you in blue Jones?

Harry

Hey Harry & Lee

Harry...I think I saw you in the Parker. I was in a white 20ft Jones all by myself. It was fun wasn't it!!! Congrats on the 14 pounder! That's big

Lee...call me when you get in. I just left you a message on your cell. I am staying at Calico Jacks Fri and Sat night. Call me soon before the extra bed is gone.

Hey Old Saltie

I haven't been off our beach in several days but I just came back from fishing Cape Lookout for 3 days and the Albie fishing was the best I have ever seen going back several years. On Sunday afternoon inside the Hook at Barden's Inlet it was wide open for over 2 hours with Albie's eating anything you threw in front of them. I hope to post some pics once I get a chance. If you can make it up there I think you will be pleased. Everytime I saw Lee/Gottafly he had his two anglers hooked up with bent fly rods...I know that was a happy bunch!
