Back from Baja
I just returned from vacation down around Los Cabos, Mexico.
Had a one day opportunity to get out and do some fly fishing with Baja Anglers. It was great morning bite that tapered off around noon and on into the afternoon.
That morning I was able to land a couple of nice yellowfins on an Orvis T3 11 weight with a Ross big game 6 reel. Lot's of fun. We also caught several skipjacks and a big bonito. The tuna wore me out! They were busting on top like albacore. Quite a sight.
We trolled for dorado with no luck in the afternoon and although that part of the world is full of marlin we never laid eyes on one.

Dave,
I do have some photos but no scanner to put them online.
The most effective fly I used was a sardine type pattern tied on a size 1 Tiemco hook. I used nothing but pearl angel hair with chartruese as the back.
It caught all the fish we boated. We were using a 350 grain Teeny sink tip. A lot of the time the skipjacks would eat the fly not long after it hit the water. If the fly was able to sink farther down the tuna would eat it.
It was a new experience for me and I enjoyed it.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Great fishing. Bet the drag had a good work out. Always seems to be great fishing in that part of the world and you don't have to go 60 plus miles offshore to get it. Hope you can get your pictures up.
