1st Annual Eric Powell Redfish Tournament

There will be a benefit Redfish Tournament & Bar B Que & Chicken Dinner April 30, 2011 held at New River Marina in Sneads Ferry NC , to Benefit Eric Powell who is suffering with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease )

Eric is the son of Dale & Nancy Powell owners of Power Marine Outfitters & New River Marina in Sneads Ferry .
Eric was strictened last summer with what was thought a brain tumor which was later diagnosed as ALS
Eric has just returned from DUKE Medical Center in Durham where he had a rather long stay in the ICU . He is now on a feeding tube & on a ventilator and requires round the clock in home care .

Thanks for posting this, I meant to do so and it slipped my mind. Bummed that I will not be in town for this. Eric in a great guy and I hate this for his family.

Could not find a nicer guy or better speck fisherman than Eric. A good young man with his life seemingly just ahead of him.

Eric is a class act. My family and I have been a patron of New River Marina since Richard ran it in the 70's. I only fish out of Snead's Ferry 3 - 4 times a year and Eric always sent me in the right direction whether it was up river or towards Browns Inlet (it was up to me to put fish in the boat). His enthusiasm for me to catch whatever I was chasing was never contained and I appreciate it.

Let's support Eric and his family in this time of need.
