Winter Steelhead Season is Here! Chromers Galore!

A buddy of mine just sent me some bragging pics from here on Vancouver Island yesterday. Winter steelhead season is already cranking here on the island and by the looks of things there's some very CHROME fish around!

I'm heading out for a few days early next week before i head back south for the duration of the winter so hopefully i can expect the same success!

Oz you gotta get up here for some of these steelhead next year man. Not the winter steelhead, cause they don't call them WINTER steelhead for nothing, but the summer and fall runs on the fly rod are what it's all about.

I think we need a Pelagic Pro Team BC Steelhead Invitational.

Followed up closely by the Pelagic Pro Team Eastern Canada Giant Bluefin Extravaganza.

My boy Lance Watkins just checked in with some beautiful fly-caught steelhead today from the north Umpqua in Oregon. NICE FISH DUDE!

Catching them in Oregon too, a little slow and very cold today with lots of boat traffic, but I managed to pop up a couple out side drifting with Brian Soupy Cambpell and Chad Beatty...one nate and one little hatch brat...

Gibran hit it again yesterday here on Vancouver Island, said he was into 9!!! Way to go buddy, I'm heading out for a few days tomorrow...can't wait!

Awesome pics! Some of those BC fish look like they were mere hours out of the salt.

There are a lot of great "takes" to be had fishing in this world...hard to beat a steelhead on a swung fly in my book!
