I was at dinner tonight and missed a frantic phone call from my fellow hellman Barnes Cooper who is down in Cabo right now making a run at the Bisbee Tournaments.

It was tough to make out his message through the tequila screaming, but the gist of it was clear. I wish i could put up the voice mail for all to enjoy, because it's always a rush to hear someone screaming into the phone in that kind of blind excitement.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore Tournament, 17 October 2010, Tournament results provided by Picante Sportfishing.

Well, the results are in and again there have been some big marlin weighed at the Bisbee's Los Cabos Offshore Tournament. The top honors goes to Barnes Cooper aboard the Incognito with a 540 lb. Blue Marlin. Their winning Marlin was followed by Anthony Hsieh aboard Bad Company, with his 490 lb. Black Marlin. Not far behind was Rich Hamilton, aboard Bandit, with his 470 lb Black Marlin.

In the Billfish Release category, a total of 28 of the 59 total boats released marlin. The scores ranged from 100 to 700 points. The winners were first, 3-way tie at 700 each for Tenacious, Ez-Duz-It and Bull Rider. Second place was another tie at 600 points. Those boats were El Gallo and El Lobo. In third place, at 500 points, was Animal House. Total Billfish Count was 55, which consisted of 3 Black Marlin, 16 Blue Marlin, 32 Striped Marlin and 4 Sailfish.

For what those guys spend on their fishing program every year, they better win some $$$$ now and then to help support it!!!

Screw who won most $$$, Barnes and crew can say they beat the best of the best out there hands down with the biggest beast to the scales. Nice work buddy. Roll that $$$ into the big one this week and go ALL-IN! You're playing with the house's $$$ now!!!!

Hahahaha...no kidding! Can't win if you don't play. I am really kicking myself for not flying down now when i had the invite last week. He's going to win the Bisbee B&B now and i'll just go throw myself into a tequila coma for a week and cry.

Yeah, we didn't care about the money for this one, saving it all for the Black and Blue. It was actually free entry into this tourney for winning the Bisbees PV mini-tourney in fall 2009. So, $0 investment for $20k.

The big teams invested millions for $80k payout.

Someone smarter than me can work out the return on investment percentages. I think mine approaches infinity percent (divide by zero).

Anyways, thanks for the props guys. We're spending the next two days further dialing in the gear and the boat.

Randy on Incognito and his crew are excellent guys, excellent fisherman, we all just clicked and executed like a well oiled machine.

I am loving the experience!!!!!!

Had to let JT know, first call, and I was fired up.

Black and Blue, then off to PV for two weeks of fishing there.
