Trip to Tofino w/ El Diablo

Made the annual trek up to Tofino with SteveD to chase the plentiful Salmon and bottom critters from July 27 - 31.......fished with expert guide "El Diablo" and skilled deckhand Andrea. It was carniage for 3 straight days......the Halibut only responded the last day, but the other critters (Salmon, Lings, and Yelloweye Snapper) more than filled in the gap. If you are thinking of fishing the Pacific Northwest, I highly suggest you give JT, "El Diablo", a call or email.......you won't be disappointed. The Salmon run next year is going to be off the charts. I will let the Pics tell the rest of the Story.

Awesome....good luck. I suggest processing your own fish or having Jordan (dock boy) do it for you. Our processing tab at Trilogy was $1,100 for filet, vacuum seal, and box......ouch.

Great pictures. I will be back up there on the 17th for about 10 days.

They really have you on the fish processing. Trilogy won't just freeze your fish. They want the processing fee, also. They want $1.75 per pound to process and freeze it. But, they sure do a really nice job. In Ucluelet, the processing place there told me that they will just freeze it for $.75 per pound.

Sure wish JT had a freezer like the one on Maximo........

Anyway good luck.....Barnes, Bogey and JT......OMFG!!

Here is what I learned to keep the cost down with respect to processing:
    1) Gill & Gut all Salmon
    2) Have Jordan (dock kid who is really good) filet all Halibut and Rockfish (only salmon have to be whole.....all other species can be fileted for processor).

This would have saved us $400 minimum.

Trilogy does do a fantastic job though.......fish looked great when I got it home and in the freezer. I had some fish tacos with the Snapper yesterday and the fish tasted very fresh.
