Just tied the Maximo back up after another incredible day of yellowfin tuna fishing.
It's quite a treat to leave Punta de Mita at ten o'clock in the morning after a nice leisurely breakfast, head offshore on flat calm seas at thirty knots, pull up to a massive school of tuna, and then proceed to catch a dozen or so fish between 80 - 120#'s until the boss and his friends all scream "OK!!! THAT'S ENOUGH!!!!!"
If you were counting the number of fish we saw out there today on the meter you would have lost count at about three million. It was solid spaghetti and meatballs on the sounder for the better part of five miles, and they wanted anything you threw at them.
To say there is a pile of fish down here right now would be an understatement. Six months and counting, this bite just won't stop!!!!
Back out tomorrow, we're going to try to catch a marlin or two, our tuna quota for the week is fulfilled.
