    skin cancer

As a melanoma skin cancer survivor; I thought this video may lend some information to others on the prevention of this very deadly form of cancer.

As fishermen we spend a lot of time in the sun. Getting checked often and catching it early is the key to beating it.

Having spent all my younger years on the water (just like most of you) I feel fortunate to have survived my early Melanoma diagnosis in the year 2000. One word of advice - have your skin check-ups done by a qualified Dermatoligist, not by your General Practitioner - they just don't see enough cases.

During my surgery, I had a cool Doctor (plastic surgeon) who had fished all over the world in the golden era, Chile, Peru, Ghana, Cairns, etc. and we spent the whole time talking Marlin fishing!
