Replacing the Spoke to Maintain the Stoke...9/06

If i were challenged to champion one theme from this week...one facet that left more of a lasting impression on me than any other...i would share the burden of carrying CREATIVE ENERGY across the finish line shoulder to shoulder with friends...both known for eons, and those just recently acquired...because above all else...i think we all helped each other to realize just what kind of opportunities exist out there...

I must admit in my life there are only sporadic opportunites to really enjoy creative freedom...i suppose it could be argued that fishing on this level is art...and that i have the carte blanche to chisle, mold, and conform at least my personal reality on a day to day basis...but forget about that...fishing doesn't fit with this line of thinking...i'm talking about exploring life on an entirely new level...driven and supported by a cast of characters spanning an immense spectrum of creativity that, for me...re-kindled an appreciation of the opportunites we are blessed with...and the myriad of possibilities that lie ahead...

Perhaps the thing that i've been missing...thanks to focusing so much on a single conquest and trying to be the best goddamn fishing captain i can be...is that life is as much a part of LIFESTYLE as anything...and without really knowing it i succeeding in taking one spoke out of the lifestyle hub and making it the epicenter of my world...and in doing so clearly shifted the delicate balance of personal fate...now...that's a lot to consider...and something i'm going to be dwelling on for a long time to come...

In any event...we're going to be changing things...because we have a lot more to be greatful for than just big fish and lots of them...i felt the energy created by a core group of people that visited this particular place in time and i don't think i'd be the only one saying if we don't harness this potential than we should be condemned for wasting it...it's a big world out there amigos...and DUH!...i needed a little reminding that there's a ton of amazing people out there to share it with...

So what does that mean? Well...to be honest i'm not sure really...i'm still coming to grips with re-kindled inspiration and the most effective way to harness it...but i will say this...life has a funny way of sneaking up on you and certainly operates on unpredictable levels...the White Stripes got it right...

"I've been listening for the door bell...

When ya gonna ring it...when ya gonna ring it...."

And amen to that...the door is ajar...

Ok...sorry to go Jerry McGuire on you there...but i needed to get that out...

Keep the eyes and ears tuned to the launching pad folks...there be no tellin where we go from here....

    Arrrrrrrr.....

Thanks to Joe and Steph from Premier Mentoring www.premiermentoring.com and www.stephiepaige.com , Addison from www.addfitz.com , everyone who went the extra mile and kept up the stoke...and especially Ujena for pulling it all together...

    Muchas, muchas gracias...

(photos: Some oldies but goodies thrown in here...quite a cast of characters down here over the years...)

I know exactly what you are talking about cap. You made something that only is a part of your life the core. For me it's the same way. I have seen and done so much (not nearly as much as you though) at 24. Running to the edge, douing battle with some REALLY big fish, learning the feeling of defeat and victory, amongst many other things.

For me now it's about sharing it with whomever i possibly can. I love the reaction when i put someone on a 100# YFT, or watch there jaw drop one a 250# blue airs out 50 yards from the boat.

For me, it's not about catching fish anymore, its about helping share the experience with people.

I feel ya on this one captain.

PS: You are one lucky SOB getting to fish with all these gorgeous women.

Another nice writeup Captain Josh, as usual! Great pics as well.

What is that thing hanging to the left of this picture? Some sort of bait rig I assume.

Keep it coming. We are impatiently waiting the next installment.

The Highest measure of a mans character is his ability to look inside himself even in the best of times........"by me "

This I believe keeps a man on top of his game...whatever that game may be...

Great report JT,,,,I cannot wait to share a rail with you in Panama....PV....hell the bar for that matter....
