Take Care Man,
Keep in mind as i answer this that it is my firm opinion that the more time i spend out there the less i truly know.
That said, the waters are certainly NOT cooler this year. In fact the highest i've seen this year was a shade over 92 degrees!!! Whether we need to blame it on the water temps and El Nino or not, this has certainly been the worst start to a big fish season that i've seen since i arrived down here many years ago. I've seen 92 degree water down here before - but with fantastic fishing for both tuna and marlin to go with it. This year? Pretty dismal by PV standards.
Now, there's not too many places in the world where i'd be complaining about catching the fish we did this past week. But PV spoils you very quickly, and for our backyard the kind of fishing we're experiencing right now ain't chit for what it usually is.
I hope things turn around and the bizillions of giant tuna and black and blue marlin that normally haunt our waters finally SHOW THE HELL UP! Time will tell...
We're out again starting tomorrow so who knows...maybe i'll eat these words with some fresh tuna poki whilst sorting through marlin release shots on the lap top soon enough.
Wish us luck!!!!

Good Luck!
At the end of September in 2005, the water temps were 91 - 93 degrees and the Cows and Marlin were CHEWING everything in site.........could barely get a chora up in the rigger before it was detonated on.......doubles and triples were not uncommon, and multi fish days (sometimes up to 5 Cows in a single day) was the norm. I would absolutely love to see PV get going like this in October.......better late than never......hold on tight, it's just around the corner.....
Thanks boyz, just curious...
Hey Matt, theres an outside chance of me heading to LA area for work towards the end of the year for a couple of months...will hit ya up if it works out.

Pretty work on your first trip Steve and Josh. Through all of it sounds like she's a catching machine already. Hope the new rig brings you guy's alot of great times and bent poles. Congrat's to Steve D., and JT pleasure working with you guy's.
