    PV Hotels

I am going to PV for my honeymoon in October. My Fiance is thinking the Westin is the place to go. We like to fish from the shore and will be chartering a couple of days as well. I understand the snorkeling is poor in the bay. Is there somwhere better to stay that offers a better beach for snorkelling and shore fishing? I know the Ritz is great but unfortunattelly the cost would cut into my charter money. Whar are your thoughts?

    Thanks

    Darin

October is the slow season so you should be able to get good deals at most places. The Westin has a nice pool but the rooms are just OK and they don't have american TV service (Westin uses "SKY" which is the mexican DirecTV).....although I doubt you will using it much. JT will likely have the best recommendations for you.

It would be my suggestion that you should get outside the bay if you are serious about finding good shore fishing, clean water, and nice beaches. Waters are extremely murky in the bay during rainy season, no bueno for snorkelling or swimming.

Try Sayulita at Villa Amor, or any of the other quaint boutique hotels in that village. Surf, swimming, beach fishing, and nightlife are all there. It'd be my pick for a good, budget minded spot for a honeymoon. You can take a 15 min taxi ride into Punta de Mita and jump on a number of great boats from there. Email me for further info if you'd like.
