When it's small, like it was when these shots were taken, it is definitely longboard-able. When it's big you'd have to be Alex Knost or Joel Tudor to outrun it.

If i can get the rest of these photos and video up you'll see what i mean. These shots are from when we first got there and the swell wasn't really pumping yet...it went double overhead in a hurry from there.

Sweeet pics as always Capt. Josh! I'm heading to Bali, Indonesia in 2 months to do some surfing, can't wait!.
Hope to do some fishing there as well. Do you happen to know if there's any good fishing there?
Looking forward to the rest of the pics and reading your reports as always!

Man wish i could help but i've never been there. I'm assuming they have fairly decent wahoo and dog tooth tuna action but you'd probably be better served posting up a request for info thread in the general big game forum, i'm sure somebody on SF.com has been there and can share the goods.

I'm sure you'll score some epic surf though! Good luck and post up the shots when you get back!!!

Josh that looks sick bro. cant wait for the other pics.

Ryan was talking about Indo later this year..... could your arm be twisted

Mac, hook up with Made through slim @ baliwaves.com for fishing, they hang out in the warung outside Bakung beach cottages off Jalan Kartika plaza and are worth going to visit for a cold bintang or an Arak session. its all done in a Jakung(little outrigger with 30hp yammie) but its cheap and Made is the local guru. His gear is pretty average and most of the fishing is trolling rapalas and marauders. he leaves from Tuban.....same place the boats leave from to go to kuta reef, aiport right and middle's.
The fishing out near the Bukit is good. We also got some nice doggies off Nusa Lembonagan but there is no point going there if its flat as you can get very bored. Lacerations and Shipwrecks are super fun waves(lacerations is alot more intense) but they go flat at low tide so fishing is a good idea.

I have done a bit round Bali, Lombok/Sumbawa and Sumatra if you want to know more just fire me a PM

Mozz...man i've talked about doing a trip like that in the past...but to tell you the truth with the fishing and access to these kinds of "private" waves right here in our back-yard it's hard to talk myself into getting on a plane and flying half way around the world to recreate the magic we have right here at home!

Great Pics Josh. Looks a lot like our Ollies Point. Maybe you saw in Endless Summer 2. Superfun and how can you go wrong with Curren. Did some jam sessions go down too?

P.S. You Suck! haha

Goose bumps is all I have to say. Josh I have been reading your write ups for a while now. You have inspired me to become a better fisherman with all the great stories and photos.

Yesterday morning we found out we have our first little boy on the way This piece of writing just inspired me to be a better father.

This trip will be remembered because your own son was there.

Chasing huge tuna and marlin is one thing but to know I will get to do it with my own son is a true dream. Some of my best trips are the ones with my old man reguardless of what was caught.

Thanks for the inspiration.
